More info

Beautiful stone hearts make a perfect gift for a loved one.

3cm

Kiisi stone is soft and varies in colour naturally from white to rose to grey.

Hand made in Kenya in an area called Kiisi. Stone sculptures have been carved here for over 60 years. Carvers work in small groups with each group specialising in certain carvings.

The soft soapstone is firstly sawn and chopped into rough shapes, then the artists carve the details in the stone before being sanded down with water. They are then hand painted, etched and finally etched. This gives a beautiful finish and makes the hearts extremely tactile.

As each heart is hand made each one will be slightly different and colour may vary as to that shown in the images displayed.

The products are Fair Trade and your purchases help provide a stable income and standard of living for the artists and their families.

A percentage of the sale goes toward the World Wildlife Fund and their conservation projects.
